<div>Oliver was diagnosed with cerebal palsy in September 2019, his diagnosis was given due to oliver having brain damage due to premature birth born at 30 weeks. oliver has been given the offical term billateral spasptic cerebral palsy with lower muscle trunk inclusion. Oliver has daily medication to help with pain and discomfort and quarterly injections in his legs. As parents, we have to complete daily physiotherapy sessions and have special equipment in our home to help with his needs to manage his comfort levels. We have been told there is a huge possibility Oliver may not be mobile which as a family we have come to terms with.

<div>After numerous meetings with many consultants Oliver has been given an opportunity for an operation that will remove the pain and discomfort, and he will not require any further injections throughout his life. This surgery is called Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy, this is a surgery that cuts into oliver spine and removes the nerves in his legs that cause the spasticity. Oliver will require 6 weeks of rehabilitation after the surgery. unfortunately, as Oliver is a GMFCS level 4 this surgery is not funded on the NHS and we have to pay for the operation to be completed.

<div>So as a family we are asking for your support to get this operation for Oliver, we are going to organise charity nights and have set up this page. This operation is a chance for Oliver to live with minimal pain and also help with his Motability. The full cost of operation is £12701 which will be paid directly to Alder hey hospital once we have the full total we then will be able to book the procedure we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for reading and any help given is appreciated so much all we want is the best opportunity for Oliver to progress and enjoy his life pain-free love Catherine, Richard and Oliver x
