Oliver is recovering from a bad infection

This fundraiser is to help Taylor Schmitz, loving father to Oliver. Oliver was admitted to the hospital Thursday, March 27th 2023 for what appeared to be a swollen knee and a fever. With further testing the Doctors at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin discovered a staff infection in the blood and bone surrounding the area. The next day Oliver was scheduled for surgery to drain and remove as much of the infection as possible. Oliver continues to receive treatment as he fights off the infection but continues to run into complications. He is expected to stay in the hospital for some time until it is under control.

Oliver Schmitz is the sweetest 5 year old boy you could ever meet. He has survived many surgeries in the past with having been born with spina bifida. He struggles daily to recieve care due to being autistic and struggling with sensory overload. Oliver is a fighter and he is expected to make a full recovery.
