Olive Sue's CDH Mecical Fund

I started this campaign for our friends Aaron and Olivia who a few months ago found out at a doctors appointment that their baby girl Olive has what is called a Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia, meaning there is a hole in her diaphragm, and the contents of her of abdomen have started migrating to her chest cavity. Nobody knows why this happens, it just does.  Olive was born Friday October 13th at 1:32pm weighing 5lbs 4oz  17 & 3/4 inches &TONS of hair! fast forward to Monday morning, Olive was already having to go into surgery to repair her CDH, her surgeon was able to laparoscopically move down her small intestine, large intestine, and spleen from the left chest cavity. He was able to repair her hernia by stitching part of her diaphragm together, then covering the rest with a patch ...that he stitched to the diaphragm and her ribs. With everything back where it should be, her heart (which was completely pushed over to the right side) should eventually move back towards the left side. Her left lung, although severely underdeveloped, is indeed there and appears to be healthy despite its small size. Her surgeon stated that Olive is looking at about a minimum of one month for recovery in the NICU...

I cannot imagine what Olive has went through on her first few days on earth but she is a FIGHTER and will make keep showing us how strong she is.
