Olga's Medical Treatments

In 2011, after her sister's death, Olga found a lump in her right breast.  After many doctor appointments, Olga was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. After an intense year of treatment, reconstructive surgery, and chemo, Olga was declared in remission. 

At the end of September 2017, Olga had a nagging cough that never went away. She went to doctors and urgent care with no relief. Finally, she was able to get an order for a chest x-ray, which revealed several nodules in both lungs. Olga was diagnosed with metastatic stage 4 lung cancer with lesion in the liver. Olga has never been a smoker. The lung cancer metastasized from her earlier breast cancer.

Olga spent over 30 years of her life working as a social worker in Kalamazoo and surrounding counties. She has 3 sons who are devastated by her diagnosis after seeing her go through her breast cancer. Olga is a deeply religious person, and prays every day to be healed for her children.  



Olga is receiving treatment in Grand Rapids, and must travel 3 times a week. She is not able to afford this and is struggling. She also cannot afford the infusion costs and has spent her savings paying for treatment. She is half-way through her first round of treatment. Insurance does not cover all the costs, or travel expenses.

We are asking for your help, if you can. She is a wonderful woman and would normally be the one helping, but she is the one in need now. The funds will go towards travel expenses and treatment. If you cannot donate, please leave a comment with encouragement for us to share with Olga.
