My name is Gabriel Espineira and I am asking you to please help my friend. Here is her story….
My name is Olena Kolovorotna - I’m a Ukrainian counsellor from Odesa. I’m asking for your help.
On June 20, 2025, my home - the apartment I lived in for 9 years - was directly hit by a Russian Shahed drone. I was inside when it happened.
By some miracle, I survived. But I was injured, and I lost nearly everything:
My clothing, my laptop, all the tools I use for my work as a counsellor, and countless personal belongings that made my home feel like home.
I now live with a friend while I try to recover and rebuild. The apartment is badly damaged, and insurance will not cover any of it - war is not insurable. The estimated cost to repair and restore it is $40,000.
As a counsellor, I’ve spent my life supporting others through trauma, crisis, and fear - especially during this horrific war that Russia started. But now, for the first time, I find myself in a position where I need help too.
This campaign is being set up by a dear friend on my behalf, and every donation, no matter how small, brings me closer to having a home again - a safe space to live, to heal, and to continue helping others.
From the bottom of my heart:
Thank you.
Thank you for reading, for caring, and for standing with Ukraine.
With love and resilience,
