Olena Finding Freedom

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Kerry.  Marcelle and I have started a fundraiser for our dear Ukranian-American friend Olena Didkovskyi-Sarapulova,  her husband, and her four children as they ride out the third day in their home of Kyiv, which is under siege from Vladimir Putin's army. We met back in 2000, as young women, working at the Beach Chalet in San Francisco and looking forward to our futures. Olena went on to graduate from San Francisco State University, travel the world, and eventually returned to her childhood home, Ukraine. She married, has four children, and opened up an English school, The Bumble Bee House.
Olena and I partnered with our students as pen pals with our students (I am a teacher). We are waiting for our class letters to arrive at this moment. The Bumble Bee House School website has been knocked offline since the beginning of the war 3 days ago. We are concerned for not only Olena and her family, but her students and their families as well. Please send prayers to Olena, her family, friends, students, and their families.

Please think about skipping your coffee or Boba today and think about donating at least $5.

As Martin Luther King Jr. said, “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly."  Many hands make light work. May God bless the people of Ukraine and may they find peace swiftly.

With Gratitude for Freedom,
Kerry and Marcelle

First Update: 11:12 am 2/26/22:
She tried to flee across the border yesterday with her four children and get out but returned to Kyiv. Roads are blocked and bridges have been destroyed. Her husband had stayed to fight as mandated by President Zylensky. Her family and the nation are experiencing their third night of war. They are very frightened, but the bravery of the Ukrainian people as a whole is unparalleled and they will fight for their freedom. They are experiencing unnecessary aggression, attack, and bombing from Putin's army. Please skip your coffee or Boba and think about donating. Olena will need access to funds to keep her and her family safe and help her family survive this egregious attack on their freedom and the Democracy of Ukraine. The attached video is by a Ukrainian artist asking Putin for peace. Olena asked me to share this video. She has asked that the world knows what Ukrainians are experiencing atrocities.
