Oleg Shvets' Journey to Recovery

On Saturday September 29th, Oleg Shvets, my dad, got into a severe motorcycle accident involving a truck. He was flown into University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center on a helicopter at around 4 o clock. The priority was to control the internal bleeding. Therefore, he had the first surgery at his pelvic region overnight. The surgery was successful.
As of today, he is in the ICU, awaiting to receive two more serious surgeries. Our family is grateful that he had no spinal cord or brain injuries. He has a fractured pelvis in three spots, a severely broken arm and wrist, some neck injuries, a broken nose, and a damaged urethra amongst other less trivial injuries. My dad is in a lot of pain when he is awake. After the surgeries and his release from the trauma unit, the journey to recovery may take several months.
Oleg Shvets is a husband to Olena Shvets, father to my sister Elizabeth and I, and is a loved member at our church, where he serves others in any way he can assist their needs. He will be missed at our church in this time of recovery.
Please help support our family with prayer and financial support in this time of struggle. My dad was the main provider for the family and it will be a challenging time financially and a long road to full recovery. The support will help lessen the burden on our family and pay for some of the medical expenses.
