Ole's Craniosynostosis Surgery

Donation protected
On April 2, 2018 we found out that our son Ole had a condition called Metopic Craniosynostosis  - this is a congenital condition in which the forehead suture of a skull has prematurely fused at birth. It requires surgery and helmet therapy to reshape his head and remove the risk of pressure to the brain.

On May 28th, 2018 he will be undergoing cranial vault reconstruction at the Alberta Children's Hospital.  A pediatric team including a neurosurgeon, plastic surgeon, anesthesiologist, and nurses will surgically remove and reshape the fused cranial bones to allow for the natural growth and development of a normal skull. If the surgery commences without complications, Ole will spend 24hrs in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and then be moved to an inpatient room where he will spend 5-6 days on observation and recovery.

This surgery will significantly impact our family both before, during and after. Please pray, uplift and think of Ole during this difficult time.

Donations will help cover travel expenses to Calgary for both the surgery, checkups and weekly visits to the Head Shaping Clinic.

Anything that we receive that is left over or not used will be donated to the Alberta Children's Hospital.

*Ole will also be receiving a blood transfusion during his surgery - so if you are unable to offer a monetary donation - please consider a blood donation*
