Help feral cat Old Man Winter

Old Man Winter is a member of a Baltimore City feral colony. He was TNR'd in 2012 and has been taken care of ever since. A few weeks ago, the care taker noticed some swelling around the jaw. Old Man Winter is shy and was challenging to trap, so he was unable to get medical care sooner. Last week, Old Man Winter showed up to his feeding station and where the swelling used to be was now a bloody and painful area of broken skin. It seems the abscess on his neck has burst.

Old Man Winter was successfully trapped last night and plans to visit a veternary hospital that is willing to handle feral cats. In order to get the care he needs, the vet will have to sedate him, possibly add sutures to the ripped skin, provide antibiotics and medications to promote healing, and may even require an overnight stay.
