Old Person Doing B-Day Fundraising

Hello, it's my 40th birthday on March 29 and I am raising funds for the Gatehouse in Toronto from now until then. 

The Gatehouse offers access to therapy for some of the most vulnerable victims and survivors of abuse, and intervenes in abuse and violence at a critical stage. They offer treatment and support that would otherwise be unavailable to people of modest means. 

A lot of the Gatehouse's programming addresses the cyclical and intergenerational nature of abuse and seeks to disrupt these cycles. Support for sexual abuse and assault is critically needed in all areas; I chose the Gatehouse because they focus on a very difficult aspect of sexual abuse, and they have less resources for fundraising / a lower public profile than some other organizations that do similar work. 

I have a been reflecting a lot on how important it is to live with dignity, and how lucky I am to be able to do that. For my birthday, I would like my community to help send love to those who have been denied their right to dignity, for one reason or another.

Please, there is no amount too small.
