In Remembrance of Bro. Will Scott Ω

Donation protected
The brothers of the Kappa Xi chapter are saddened with the news that one of our beloved brothers has gone on to Omega chapter. Bro. Will Scott was the epitome of our 4th cardinal principle, Uplift. For those that knew him personally, you knew a man that was always willing to share a kind word and spoke nothing but positivity into the atmosphere. May the Supreme Basileus of the Universe embrace you until we meet again.

This fundraiser is to help assist Bro. Scott's family with the costly burial expenses and other necessities. On behalf of the family, the Kappa Xi chapter greatly appreciates your kind donations.

----------------------------------------
William was born on January 26, 1967, the eldest of two children, to William Benjamin Scott, Sr. and Nancy Kathryn Scott. Born in Bartow, Florida, William was courageous, self-confident and outgoing as a young boy and became a star baseball player and honor student while being raised in several states. William learned many valuable lessons about community, family, trust, honesty and faith in God from his devoted father, who he referred to as his hero.

William attended Norfolk State University on a baseball scholarship. During his sophomore year in spring 1987, William joined the fraternity Omega Psi Phi Inc., Pi Gamma Chapter. William had nine fraternity brothers on his line and he was number 4. His line was known as “Physical 87” since most of his line was made of athletes. William’s line name was John Shaft in reference to the movie “Shaft” and how William’s persona around campus was comparable to the lead character in the movie.

During his four years at Norfolk State, William starred on the baseball team as an outfielder while maintaining an outstanding GPA. William also met his wife, Brenda, while attending Norfolk State. William graduated from Norfolk State in 1989 with a Bachelors of Science degree and accepted a job in Las Vegas, Nevada with Motorola Electronics.

William settled in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1989 where his son William Benjamin Scott III was born. William was an outstanding husband and father while his business career blossomed with Motorola. Taking advantage of his unique ability as a salesman, William was able to provide an amazing quality of life for his wife, son and immediate family.

In late 2013, William began suffering from complications of valley fever. He had a ventricular shunt placed in his head to remove excess cerebral fluid buildup caused by the valley fever. For the next several months he battled health setbacks requiring medical attention and bouts of hospitalization.

William is survived by his father and mother: William Sr. and Nancy, Las Vegas, NV; two sons: William Scott III, Las Vegas, NV and Majried Mangum, Richmond, VA; one sister: Tracee Scott, Las Vegas, NV; three nephews: Micquel Robinson, Malik and Myles Green, all of Las Vegas, NV; as well as other loving relatives and sorrowing friends who loved him dearly.
