Dear Family and Friends,
This fundraiser is set up for our mom, Irene Shearer. On Feb 13th, her husband passed away from liver and heart complications. He was 59 years old and was only 12 days away from celebrating his 60th birthday. For those of you who knew Doug, you know that he was a loving and caring man. Our dad spent his last years working as a school bus driver in Colorado Springs. He was unable to work during his last three months due to his ailing health, which put a financial toll on our parents. Our dad had a very small pension, but not enough to pay for all of the bills and medical expenses. Our dad’s death took him before he could make arrangements for his beloved wife of 40 years. The last weeks of our dad’s life were wrought with worry that Irene would be left with nothing. We don’t want our dad’s worries to come true. Our parents are very proud and would not ask for a penny. We are asking, on behalf of our mom, who cannot afford to pay the unexpected medical bills, for any donation that you are able to make. We would like to reach our goal of $5,000 to help pay for medical bills, funeral costs and put Irene’s mind at ease. I want my mom to be able to grieve without a heavy financial burden weighing on her.
