Hi everyone!
My video will tell you a bit about the project that I am trying to fund but I think sharing a few extra words could help you understand how much this really means to me.
For years now, I have been searching for jobs in the hair industry that allow me to travel, be creative and independent, and get the satisfaction that I am making a difference. Though I have had very rewarding experiences and even jobs, it has been difficult to find what I was really meant to do.
Last year, after a battle in my personal life, I left a company that taught me a great deal about the art of hairdressing. I met amazing people, some of which were my educators, who encouraged me to take a stance and make the right decisions regarding my career and what will make me happy.
And that's how I ended up here! I have spent the last 8 months looking for meaning in the work that I do and just as I was ready to put the scissors down, a friend of mine came to me with this unbelievable opportunity. I am honored to have been asked to be a part of this project and I do believe that I can make a difference in these girls lives, and vice versa. It is a dream to travel to Cambodia as well as be a mentor but I am also ready to work hard and really put life into perspective.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. I will also be keeping a blog during my stay there so everyone can follow up and see how your donations helped. Thank you to everyone who has supported me through this journey and I just can't wait to get started!!
