As a former Okla State basketball player back in the 80's I was very active but now I am 51 and have been on dialysis for 10 yrs. Most people die after 5 yrs on dialysis so I thank the good Lord for success on it. 2 yrs ago I almost died from heart failure, so they had to put in a defibrillator which really helped. Because my heart is doing better, last October 2018 I got my right knee replaced. I am 7'2" and basketball was hard on it! I now need another knee replacement on the left one this time but before that the doctors want to try to fix my hands, or at least one of them, as I have 'claw' hands. You can see it in my picture. Both are this way and the tendons & ligaments have tightened up so I can't feed myself or hold a cup. I live by myself but have good neighbors to come and cook for me and check on me. My truck just quit working so now I have to take a bus to get to the dialysis center twice a week and it is very hard on me. I would like to get a new used truck to go to my doctor appts & dialysis. My medical bills are piling up and I really need one of my hands operated on so I could do a little more for myself. Since I am probably living on borrowed time with my dialysis, I would really like to have the hand surgery before I get my other knee done. I've always tried to live a good Christian life and help others and am a very decent, honest person who values more than you will ever know any help I can get. I don't get out much due to my disabilities and I really need more help now with my medical bills. The hand doctor said he could work in my surgery this summer, like in July if my heart is doing good and dialysis.
I hate to ask for assistance, but my close friends and family members have been wonderful in helping me financially but my health issues are getting a little more intense and stressful for them to try to help me. Anything that you could give to help me would be so appreciated.
God Bless you for y our good heart!
