Support the Watsons

The Primary Care Sales Force of Janssen Pharmaceuticals recently conducted POA meetings from March 3-5th.  The Mid-Atlantic Region was holding their meeting in Richmond, VA.  An impending storm cut the meeting short by one day and most of the region members left for home on early Wednesday evening.  However since West Virginia was already being impacted by the storm, the WV folks remained at the hotel on Wednesday night to wait out the storm.

While at dinner at the hotel’s restaurant on Wednesday evening, one of our Senior Executive Sales Specialists, Elwood ‘Woody’ Watson, turned to his District Manager Mitch Vincent stating that he wasn’t feeling well.  Woody then began to lose consciousness.  There happened to be an ER doctor in the restaurant and they were able to get him rushed to the hospital where was diagnosed with a ruptured triple aortic abdominal aneurysm.  He underwent emergency surgery to correct the aneurism however, as is very typical with this type of procedure, he started to experience multi-organ failure and other related concerns.  Woody is currently on a ventilator and will be remaining in the hospital for quite some time.

Mitch and several other members of the Mid-Atlantic region have been at Woody’s bedside since the incident, and many others visited him over the weekend.

At the time this occurred, Woody’s wife Linda was at their vacation home in Arizona.  The storm prevented her from travelling to Richmond until Saturday.  The purpose of this site is to raise monies for Linda to pay for her hotel, meals and other out-of-pocket expenses until Woody is released and can return to their home in Pennsylvania.
