My Family and Friends,
My cousin Jenna and her husband Larson's family has been faced with a heartbreaking trial in their life. Their daughter Lauren has been at Kapiolani Hospital for sometime now with an illness that has not been able to be diagnosed. This is what we know as of now in Jenna's words:
So what we originally thought Lauren had was the stomach flu, turns out it wasn't. We are still running tests and waiting for results. Looks like they are pretty positive that she has a HLH I believe it is an auto immune disorder where the bad blood cells are eating the good blood cells so her blood cells cannot regenerate. She also has some kind of virus that they cannot figure out. There are many viruses that they cannot test for, which makes it very scary cause we may never know what it is. She may just have to let it pass. And who knows when that could be. They are very hopeful with her liver and kidney function which were failing when we first came in, all her numbers are rising. Yay! Her blood counts are also up which means her blood is clotting but she must start making them on her own without the platelets that shes receiving. Her ex rays of her lungs are looking better today her breathing is really what's keeping her in the ICU. So until we figure out what's going on inside of her to cause all this chaos within her....we wait.
As we all know. There will be a financial hardship on the horizon. Medical bills that will occur as well as lost wages for Jenna and Larson. The one and only thing they need to worry about is making sure they are there with Lauren through this time. Please join me in donating to this well deserving family.
