OHS Baseball Scoreboard

For many of us, playing Oregon Panther baseball was an awesome memory! I don’t know about you, but the older I get the more nostalgic I become about our days playing ball, the friendships made on the field and for our hometown too!

John Meier (84), Chris Duerk (92) and I are working together to get in touch with past athletes to see if they would be interested in joining us in support of a special project.

The Project

If you’ve been home recently, you know that the sports fields in Oregon have been expanded and improved. It’s looking awesome! A few of us had the idea of trying to raise funds to purchase and donate an upgraded scoreboard for the new baseball diamond (picture of concept to the right).

The Cost & Fundraising Effort

The goal of this project is $22,000. If we are able to exceed the goal, we will donate all monies raised to the program. Some of you may know that I am the President of Badger Sporting Goods in Madison. Because of my special affinity for this project (and in the interest of transparency), I will work with the manufacturer to get the pricing as low as possible and Badger will pass on all savings making no profit.

Pass It On!

I hope you agree that it would be an honor to be a part of something that will serve our hometown, and players like us, for years to come. Please pass this letter on to players that you may be in touch with and who may be interested in joining the effort. Some have also asked about including coaches and family members and that’s fine too!

Contributions can be mailed to my home address: 8839 N. Cemetery Rd./Evansville WI 53536 and checks can be made out to Oregon High School/attn: Baseball Scoreboard Project. Please include your email so we can keep in touch with you about the project. If you have other questions, please feel to contact any of us:

We would like to complete fundraising by March so the board can be installed for the 2018 season. I’d love it if we could celebrate completing this project at a game or gathering this spring/summer!
