Ohio Family Displaced by Chemicals: Please Help!

"Hello, my name is Kathy. My brother, David Sharek and his family Melanie, Jack, GeeGee, and LeeLee live in East Palestine, Ohio, where a recent train derailment has caused toxic and dangerous chemicals to be released into the air, ground, and water. David lives half a mile from the site, and their home and all its contents have been contaminated. As a result, they are unable to return to their home safely, which means they are now facing unexpected expenses and uncertainty about their future.

This was David's first home where he provided his family with a safe and stable environment. This house holds great sentimental value to them, and they love the East Palestine Community. However, due to these circumstances, David has been forced to break the news to his devastated children that they will no longer be attending the schools they loved or playing sports with their lifelong friends. The town and its community have been severely impacted, resulting in my brother and other residents having to abandon their homes and possessions. Short-term and long-term health concerns are significant issues. Any attempts to re-enter the homes immediately lead to eye and throat irritations, rashes, coughing, and nausea. These health concerns are genuine and cannot be taken lightly, especially for his twin daughters who suffer from underlying conditions resulting from premature births. David had worked so hard and tirelessly to take Melanie and her kids out of subsidized housing and into a place they could call their own. Despite David's efforts to provide a better life for his family, he is currently struggling to find a safe place for them while still being responsible for the mortgage payments on their now-uninhabitable home. In light of this difficult situation, I have created this GoFundMe campaign to raise funds to assist my brother and his family. Our objective is to gather enough donations to help them secure a safe place to live, acquire new possessions and start a new life without the fear of foreclosure, allowing them to concentrate on rebuilding their lives without any additional financial burden.
