Oh Honey, Take Me Away! Senior Thesis Film

Hello! My name is Theo Garvey , a California College of the Arts Senior and the Writer and Director of "Oh Honey, Take Me Away!" I am seeking support for my senior thesis, a profoundly personal project exploring grief experienced during a series of road trips in 2021. Throughout that challenging semester, I traveled to Arizona for the funerals of loved ones.

Logline: Ruth is on a journey spanning 750 miles to attend her younger sister's funeral; she crosses paths with a hitchhiker, Annie, setting the stage for an unexpected relationship.

This short film addresses themes such as grief, queer identity, and female rage. It holds relevance for contemporary young femme queer individuals, resonating with their journey of self-discovery and embracing their authentic selves as they navigate the world that doesn’t always love them.
