As many of you know , my 11 year old daughter Jasmine, was diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia last week. It was a long road to a diagnosis, and will be an even longer road to recovery. She has been in and out of the IWK since the end of March. I am a single mother who has had to stop working, in order to take care of Jasmine and her younger sister Madison. I honestly can't work and take Jasmine to her numerous doctor's / treatment appointments (2-3 days a week ) .
Jasmine is going to be admitted to the IWK for 2-4 weeks next week. She will be starting immune suppression therapy, which means suppressing her entire immune system to try and kill the antibodies that are killing her bone marrow .
With this comes a lot of costs . They have estimated her prescription costs will come to 1600 a month alone. On top of the cost of having a sick child in the hospital.
