Official TYQUARN MALIK GRAVES Memorial Fund

My name is Tyqaun Malik White. I am writing this in hope of some reparations for the trauma inflicted on my Graves family and their community. On June 2nd in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, my cousin Tyquarn Malik Graves was murdered by 10 NYPD officers who fired 19 times all over his body. Tyquarn had been in a altercation before the presence of the NYPD where he was found injured from a gunshot by his other opponent. Before he could make any action to surrender or seek help, his life was taken after only  about 1 minute of police negotiation. Had Tyquarn been taken to a hospital and into custody, his life would be in full affect today. There are livestream videos surfacing Twitter from the people of  Kingsborough that witnessed the NYPD kill Tyquarn brutally in their community. If you come across this video, FAIR WARNING for it is vile.

Tyquarn  is my older cousin, he was only 34 years old.  Sadly, he is not the first cousin I have lost to gun violence. To see how this type of trauma and brutality continues to affect my family, Tyquarn's family and Black families across this country ... is suffocating. This was pure murder and was uncalled for. This system that is  focused on the erasure of black beings needs to be confronted head on.

This fund is to commemorate the memory of Tyquarn Malik Graves and to support his family however they need be in these times. The NYPD publicly claimed that his death was not a part of the recent protests regarding the Black Lives Matter movement (ex. George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery etc...).  However, that reality is incorrect & misinformed. Because Tyquarn is now another black body that they have taken from us, it is a part of this movement. Like he is my cousin, he was yours. Many of our "cousins" are out there facing these horrors everyday. I ask that you send your most thoughtful prayers and love over my family and Tyquarn's close friends. Only some can truly stomach the lengths in which they are grieving at the moment. I encourage you to understand and respect my family's privacy and further support by sharing and/or making any donations that you are able to.

Motique Graves, Tyquarn's sister, is head beneficiary for this campaign. Her and her family have sole access to all funds donated to this GoFundMe.

He is gone but cannot be forgotten.
