Chief Officer In Need Of Your Support
As many of you know and experience daily, the role of a Chief Officer is not always an easy road to navigate and sometimes we need a helping hand. One of our brother’s has recently reached out for help. For privacy reasons we will not use this Chief Officer’s name but many of you have worked with him or under his command. Over the past year he has been suffering as a direct result of Occupational Stress and during this time he has asked for help but has come up with road blocks at every turn which has sadly exasperated his condition.
A few months ago, he reached out to Honour House for support and upon his arrival the next step was to find a treatment option for him. He has spent thousands of dollars of his own money to get assessed but was still not able to get the appropriate diagnosis or treatment plan. As a result, we (Honour House) have been working with a service provider who after hearing this brother’s story agreed to fast track his treatment plan and substantially discount the cost. However, the cost is still a fair amount and this individual has minimum support from his employer with no EAP support. He is on reduced income long term disability which will run out soon.
Here is the ask. As stated, we need to do a better job of looking after each other as these jobs are not easy and as an organization we need to move towards better coverage and support for Chief Officers who have dedicated their lives to public safety and supporting the communities they serve.
In the interim this individual needs your support and that’s the reason for this Go Fund Me page, to help with his treatment plan costs. On a positive note, treatment to date is working well to support his recovery, but he still has a tough road ahead.
