Officer Michael Godinez Funeral Expenses

On July 22,2020 Michael Godinez, a 24 year old, off-duty Berkeley Police officer passed away.  There are still so many unanswered questions as to how it occurred but one of these questions should not be how to pay for his funeral costs. 

Michael was born and raised in Southern California in the Montebello / Santa Fe Springs area.  After high school Michael attended California Maritime Academy.  Michael, determined to make a difference worked for FEMA for 18 months traveling all across the country to help those in disasters and devastating situations.  Michael’s heart of gold and his desire to make a difference led him to the police academy and joined the Berkeley police force.  Even as a rookie, Michael’s smile and personality made him well known and liked by all who knew him.

This unexpected tragedy is leaving the family in need to help to cover the travel expenses and funeral costs to bring Michael home to southern California.  Please donate if you find it in your heart to do so and share with others who may be able to help out.
