My mother Vlasta Joksimovic, is a mother of two, my brother Aleksandar Joksimovic, and myself Jana Joksimovic. She is also a proud grandmother of three beautiful girls. She was married to my father for 45 years, Drazo Joksimovic, who died of lung cancer 3 years ago. He was not only the love of her life but also her soulmate and her best friend. With him, half of my mother left. Now it's her time to go, my father is calling her. She was diagnosed very abruptly about two weeks ago with pancreatic cancer, which progressively got worse and spread to her lymph nodes as well as to her liver. She has undergone one chemo treatment so far, doing it "just to be around a little while longer for her kids and grandkids" as she shared with me. The cancer is very aggressive , it is stage four and not curable. Besides being the most compassionate, brave, practical, intelligent, loving, and giving mother and wife, she is a wonderful friend to many. She also has been a diligent worker all her life, including her high political positions held in former Yogoslavia, down to one of the best employees and ambassadors True North has ever had. More than just a hard worker, she conducted her job with pride, extraordinary management and people skills, and is liked and respected by many workers and managers of True North. One of Vlasta's best assets is that she is and always has been a giver and a caretaker. Not only did she carry her whole family from the aftermath of the war in former Yugoslavia , but she provided us with a future that many people from Yugoslavia can only dream of having. Within her family circle but also at work, she was and remains a true caretaker and a leader. Her people and work skills are limitless , I always saw her as an angel. Soon she will be up there and will continue to take care of all of us, including family and friends, she will continue to be an Angel . The love that my mother showered us with is indescribable and words cannot do her justice. Please consider a donation as my mother is unable to work any longer. Thank you for your love and support.
