OCs hockey pitch fundraiser
OCs hockey pitch has now turned into a concrete slab, which can no longer be used for mini hockey, let alone 1st XI games. So, the fund raising begins. £425,000 is needed. The Old Cranleighans Hockey Club needs to raise £150,000 from sponsorship and events, by September 2018.
Over 400 kids turn out every Sunday to play hockey. They need a pitch. Your donation gives those children, your children/grandchildren, the opportunity, like local Claygate resident, Sophie Bray, to become an Olympic Champion!
Every team, including those in the mini’s section has been tasked to raise £2500. A tall order if you’re a 5 year old! Therefore we are aiming to smash through our target to help them out.
To help you part with your money the OCs Barnstormers (Gerry, Dougie, Toby, Virge, Richie, Nige & Goalie) are cycling, in just two days, 275 miles, to Den Bosch, Holland to play against Den Domel hockey club on 28 April.
Plus Eastie & Redders will be doing the first 100 miles to Dover!
Please give generously, if not for the kids, for those 40 year olds, who’s knees are shot, but still love playing hockey!
