Help Ocean complete his lower surgery

Hi, my name is Ocean.

I began my medical transition in 2012, and started my lower surgery journey in 2017 with stage 1 of metoidioplasty on the NHS.

In order to have my first stage, I was told to lose a lot of weight in a short amount of time (15kg in 3 months) despite being open with my surgeons about my history of disordered eating and poor mental health. Both my personal trainer and therapist said this was dangerous and unadvisable, but because it was my only option, I did it.

Once I recovered, I was put on the list for my next stage but saw multiple complications (as many of us did; including covid delays, a change in service provider, and administration mixups). I was removed from the system accidentally and re-referred, I dealt with humiliating comments from the nurses, and when I opened up to the surgeon about my long-term recovery for disordered eating, he responded with degrading comments about my body and told me there'd be no point in operating because it wouldn't look as he wanted.

I put in a formal complaint which has been ignored by the team and resulted in phone calls about this surgeon wanting to physically examine me in person.

The actions of the NHS team have lead me to feel extremely nervous and untrusting with the service and I now feel like my only option is to pay privately with a well-known surgeon in Madrid.
