A new home and critical renovations for Ocean Breeze School.

Ocean Breeze School has provided exceptional early childhood education to children in our community for over 50 years. Our location at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Greater Lynn provided us with the supportive environment that was essential for us to flourish. As the church continues to evolve and grow, we must too.

A year ago, we were challenged to find a new home. It was a formidable task, but after a thorough exploration and thoughtful negotiations, we’re thrilled to be moving to St. Stephen’s United Methodist Church in Marblehead.

Now we face an even greater hurdle.
In order to ensure that we continue our long-standing tradition of providing a quality program to our students, we need your help! 
 
The school needs the following repairs. These renovations will cost nearly $100,000.  Between now and the end of August, we need to:

• Replace flooring
• Repaint all school rooms
• Transport playground equipment to our new home
• Install a new playground for the toddlers
• Install a security system
• Install a sink area for hand washing
• Update electrical safety plugs and lighting
• Update restrooms

The staff is ready for the challenge.

We know what we have to do, but we cannot do this alone. That’s where you come in.

We understand there are many great charities and friends who ask for your support. Helping the Ocean Breeze School move to our new home is a cause we hope you feel especially close to. You might be an alumnus or an alumni parent who knows firsthand the positive effect our program had on you or your child.  Perhaps you're a current parent or family member who has seen your child thrive in our play-based program.  Or maybe you're a friend of the school who knows the great care that our teachers put into the development of these young minds. 

One thing we all know is that for the small group of passionate OBS teachers, this is not a business — it’s their life's work and mission to create a positive learning environment for the children. And we’re asking you to help us now so they can get back to doing what they do best: creating a school for the children of our community to thrive in.

The good news is that the Unitarian Universalist Church of Greater Lynn has kicked off the campaign with a $25,000 donation. In addition, they have generously offered to match dollar-for-dollar up to $25,000 of the funds we raise through various community efforts like this GoFundMe page. In other words, when we raise $25,000 from people like you, it translates to $50,000 total. Your donation has double the impact!

Ocean Breeze fosters an environment where children begin a lifelong journey of continuous learning. Eric and Amanda were Ocean Breeze classmates 14 years ago. In addition to remaining best of friends, they were just inducted together into the 2018 National Honor Society.
