Dominique Takes Seoul with EIL

The goal of this month long culture immersion trip is to fully immerse myself in a culture outside of my own. Through a program directed by Experiment in International Living, I will have the opportunity to not only explore the streets of Seoul but also spend several nights at a Buddhist temple, participate in a homestay in the Korean countryside, and explore South Korea's second largest city, Busan, all while studying Korean peace initiatives and the nation's sociopolitical developments. I have never wanted anything as much as I wish to go on this trip. Over the past year, I have become quite interested in Korean culture, the nation's language, people, customs, food, and entertainment of course. I am currently improving my language skills but will also be provided with classes on this excursion. I have  completed extensive research and projects in relation to Korean popular culture, and I would love to have the opportunity to experience the culture first hand.
