Lenny , Sara & Callie Schwartz

Hello,

I was compelled to try and help my good friends Lenny and Sara Schwarts (and their daughter Callie). Everyone that knows them knows they are caring, thoughtful, sharing, and kind people. They would and have lent a hand to help anyone.   Lenny works multiply jobs to provide for his family, and still finds time for is love of the arts. When his Theatre Co. puts on a performance, all the proceeds go to local charities. Sara gives to her friends and community as well. When NAMI, the Non-profit organization she works for, had budget difficulties last year, Sara worked for FREE in order to still provide help for the folks that need the services from NAMI!

Those who know Lenny and Sara know that had some issues were there home last year. Lucky for them and Callie, they were able to move in with Sara parents’ home. They had some space on the property to live while repairs were made to their home. It disrupted their lives, but they were happy with family and had a safe place for Callie. After much needed repairs completed they were planning on moving back in this month.

Over the weekend when visiting their home to make final plans to move back in, they discovered somewhere a pipe had burst (even though both bathrooms had been fully renovated). This flooding caused part of the bathroom floor to collapse in to the basement; causing the furnace electrical to fry, and stop the furnace.  That resulted in the temperature in the house to drop below freezing, 9 radiators broke, and the house was covered in ice!  One room had icicles covering the ceiling. Doors were frozen shut and the basement has water covering the floor. They have insurance, and have no idea what will be covered, or when they will get funds. They are looking at least $5,000 to replace and repair heating system (which needs to be done ASAP), thousands more for clean up.  This is devastating situation for them.

Although they are grateful they still have the housing with Sara parents, I’m sure you agree they could use a HAND UP. I wanted to be able to do something more then I could do alone therefore I am asking all of my friends and a place for Lenny and Sara’s friends to help.  Please donate $5 or $10, or as much as you can. Please repost on all social media to further get them the HAND UP they deserve.  They would surely do it for you.
