Krysia Kaye Fund

This page has been set up by friends of Krysia Kaye (aka Hoskinson).

Krysia was a wonderful woman who touched many people’s lives and unfortunately passed away far too young. Krysia died unexpectedly on Thursday the 5th of March after developing a cold which turned into pneumonia which resulted in septic shock and multiple organ failure. She was a talented journalist who had worked in newspapers, radio and television but foremost she was a mum. She loved her two sons with every bit of her being. She was their champion, defender and utterly devoted to them both.

We, her friends, are devastated at her passing but it is of course her boys who feel her loss the most acutely. She leaves a huge hole in their lives and they will need much help and support to help fill the vacuum.

Krysia was the sole carer for her twelve year old son, Connor. Krysia’s oldest son, James, who is only twenty four, plans to become the legal guardian of his younger brother. This is a massive undertaking for a young man just starting out on his own life. However James is an amazing person and would not have it any other way.

If you have met James and Connor you will know they are wonderful boys; funny, smart and so kind. Krysia did an amazing job with the years she had.

James and Connor are both heart broken and would never reach out for help, so we are doing it for them. The boys live in a rundown housing association property in Bamber Bridge, Preston, but may not even be allowed to take over the tenancy. Their future is uncertain enough without having to worry about a roof over their heads. It would be wonderful if we could help them raise a deposit so they can buy their own home and have some security for the future.

Please try and put yourself in Connor’s place, a young boy who has lost his mum and his number one fan. The woman who stood at the pitch side watching his footy matches through rain and shine. The woman who reminded him it was non-uniform day and spent hours helping him with his homework. The woman who loved him most in the world.

We are hoping you will open your hearts and give what you can to Connor and the brave young man who has stepped up to take care of him. We cannot bring back the sunshine of Krysia’s smile, the wicked twinkle in her eye or the warmth of her heart but we can give her boys a more secure future by giving to this page.
