Oaklyn John Oliver's Warriors

As most of you know, my own twin daughters were born at 26 weeks gestation as well. I've recently met Barbara Lucille through the NICU that saved my girls' lives ♡ Her son Oaklyn is there now fighting for his life. Barbara has limited resources for transportation to and from the NICU as her seizure activity during the birth has caused her driving privileges to be temporarily suspended as she recovers. Here is her and Baby Oaklyn's birth story.

Per Oaklyn's Momma Barbara:

"I went in for a typical check up on October 16th, and ended up going into hypertensive crisis.... crazy high blood pressure, protein in my urine, and high liver enzymes that led to neurological episodes.

The doctors’ original hope was for me to be airlifted to Milwaukee to be monitored 24/7— however, I became too unstable to travel. I had a seizure and neurological episodes after his birth as well- I was in the ICU for 2 days and the General OB floor for 8 days. Because I was having neurological episodes and was seizing, I can not drive for 90 days.

Oaklyn was born by emergency c section the same day, October 16th at 7:08 pm. 1 pound 10.5 oz and 13 inches long-he’s had multiple blood transfusions and was treated with antibiotics for NEC. He has hit a plateau- and is just continuing to fight really hard everyday."

Oaklyn is Barbara's first child.

All funds raised here will go directly to Barbara and will be used for her to be able to be with her son and focus on both of their recoveries instead of major financial burdens keeping her away from him at a time where he needs his Mother so dearly. Funds will also be used to cover some of their medical and daily needs.

Updates will be posted here periodically as well as any needs they currently have. Continued prayers requested and are greatly appreciated during this very delicate time for baby Oaklyn.

Thank you for your support in any way you are able to give to these two beautiful people ♡
