Country Town'n Dollar Store in Oakbank

Donation protected
As many of you in the community may now know, this local business has been fined $5000 for selling a greeting card. Under the new rules concerning what products are considered "essential", I/we believe this is completely unreasonable and goes against the spirit of the rules put in place. This business did make an effort to ban the sale of many products it deemed non-essential. As many of the rules the government has put in place are vague, it is understandable that the sale of greeting cards could be seen as saleable. A warning should have sufficed. Speaking to others in the community, the owners of this business have been absolutely gracious and helpful to the point of possibly a fault. Please consider a donation to offset this untimely financial burden. If you disagree with my assessment, simply don't donate.

***For oversight purposes: The owner's have  communicated that they will be appealing the fine. I will hold all funds until an outcome is decided. If the fine is reversed, all donors will be refunded via this site or through myself.  I can be contacted through the main page if you have any questions.
