My volunteer trip to Jamaica 2015

This April, I will be representing George Brown College at Destination Jamaica.  Destination Jamaica is a credited six week international field placement whose mandate is to provide literacy and numeracy skills development to those over 16 years of age in Jamaica.

Unfortunately, not everyone can succeed in the traditional education system and with the help of Destination Jamaica and JFLL (Jamaican Foundation for Lifelong Learning) we assist those in need.

I will be working with a wide range of populations, including those who have not completed high school, adult learners, and on social issues such as mental health, addictions/substance abuse, teenage pregnancy, violence and abuse.

Since this is a volunteer position, I am asking those of you who can, to donate whatever amount you can afford, to help aid in this placement.  The cost for this six week placement will roughly cost $3000, whatever you can donate will go a long way to those in need.

Thank You so much for your support, it means the world to me and those needing this program in Jamaica,

Love you all…

Lindsay Masterson
