The Bay Shore School Distict, located on the south shore, is one of the most diverse districts on Long Island. Four years ago several teachers organized the Science Olympiad Team to enhance students understanding and interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM).
Each year we compete at the Regional Science Olympiad competition. This competition consist of a series of team events that combine the disciplines of earth science, biology, chemistry, physics, technology and engineering. The exceptional performance of our students has led to an invitation to compete at the State Tournament held in Syracuse, New York on April 17-19, 2015.
The funds we are requesting will cover the cost of additional materials needed to construct and modify our robot, rockets, bridge, and to construct a device capable of launching projectiles. Additionally, these funds will be used to help defray the cost of transportation and lodging.
Our Bay Shore Team is an enthusiastic and talented group of students and teachers who are looking forward to competing in this prestigious evernt. Please consider supporting us as we generate funds for the State Competition. We greatly appreciate your support. Thank you for helping us reach our goal.
