Help with Natalie's Funeral Costs
Donation protected
On March 5, 2015 my daughter, Natalie gained her angel wings after her long fight against Alpers Syndrome. She was diagnosed with Alper's at age 5 and passed at age 11.
Alpers-Huttenlocher syndrome is one of the most severe of a group of conditions called the POLG-related disorders. The conditions in this group feature a range of similar signs and symptoms involving muscle-, nerve-, and brain-related functions. This condition usually has three characteristic features: recurrent seizures that do not improve with treatment, loss of mental and movement abilities, and liver disease.
Children with Alpers-Huttenlocher syndrome usually have additional signs and symptoms. Most have problems with coordination and balance and disturbances in nerve function. In addition, affected individuals may develop weak muscle tone that worsens until they lose the ability to control their muscles and movement. Some people with Alpers-Huttenlocher syndrome lose the ability to walk, sit, or feed themselves. Other movement-related symptoms in affected individuals can include involuntary muscle twitches , uncontrollable movements of the limbs , or a pattern of movement abnormalities known as parkinsonism.
Due to the great finacial burden and lenghty hospital stays, we really need the help with her funeral costs. Donations in any amount would be greatly appreciated!
I would like to thank everyone for the prayers, love and support throughout the years and during this very difficult time.
Thanks and God Bless,
Lezlie Zoller
