Sarah K's meso fund

My cousin Sarah is not just my cousin, she is one of my very best friends. She is an amazingly sweet person with a generous heart & the best smile. She has a loyal, hard working husband, and they have a son who is smart and funny. They enjoy spending time with family, camping, and spending time at the family farm. Last year we found out that Sarah has peritoneal mesothelioma: a very rare cancer usually caused by asbestos. While many people with mesothelioma can narrow down where they came in contact with asbestos, she has not been able to - doctors & lawyers that she has spoken with say it is harder to pinpoint the cause when it is in the abdomen rather than lungs as hers is. She has already gone through 2 surgeries as well as chemotherapy. One of the surgeries was HIPEC, they were hopeful that would put her into remission. However, at her most recent check up she found out the meso is still growing. This spring she will be doing a clinical trial. I feel that she is so brave, because clinical trials are not certain, but they provide hope & research! She has been so amazing through all of this, she has always kept a hopeful and positive outlook. While I know she would never ask for help, she certainly could benefit from it. On top of her insurance deductible, she has prescriptions to pay for and she will also be making even more trips to Chicago once the clinical trials start. All of these expenses can add up pretty quickly for a family. This family deserves to get through this with as little stress as possible.
