Cancer Sucks! Help Nicki & Scott

Donation protected
Roughly 6 months ago,  42 year old, Nicki Dravk went for a routine mammogram and was found to have a breast lump. After going to have a biopsy, then having a lumpectomy performed, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. After meeting with several different doctors, including oncologists, surgeons, and OB/GYNs, and researching all of her options, her treatment was decided. She was to have a double mastectomy, and a hysterectomy, due to the type of cancer that was found and being BRCA 2 positive. The double mastectomy was a blessing in disguise. When they sent her tissue to the lab, they found a second spot of cancer in her other breast.

Nicki had her mastectomy in early February 2015, and her husband 46 year old, Scott was there supporting her every step of the way. During her post-op period and before she was to have her hysterectomy, Scott began having severe headaches. When the headache would not subside, he decided he would see his doctor. After an MRI was performed, Scott & Nicki were notifed by his doctor who instructed them to go immediately to the ER. They thought Scott may have had a stroke. It turned out that he actually had 4 lesions along with tissue swelling on his brain, and a mass on his lung. He now will have a PET scan to check for any further masses, and will begin brain radiation on 3/9/15. He will have surgery for his lung mass within the next 2 weeks, at which time he will be  readmitted to the hospital. Nicki now needs to delay her hysterectomy, and breast reconstruction, to be by his side.

Nicki has been receiving a mere 60% of her pay (minus insurance) from short-term disability. She has no PTO time available to supplement this pay, due to the time she had to take off for her doctors appointments prior to her surgery. Scott has no disability or PTO time through his job, and will receive no pay for his time off. They have a house with a mortgage and a 16 year old son to take care of. Nicki is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet, and is always willing to help out and take care of others. So let's help Nicki & Scott. Please donate! Any little bit will be of great help to them while going through this difficult time. Please pray for their quick return to health as well. Thank you!
