Please help and support Makinley Rain Morris, she is 13 and goes to Gamble Rogers Middle School.
She has Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) with the MLL gene marker. She relapsed in December 2014, and has now been at Wolfson's Children Hospital for over 50 days. This time around she is not going in to remission and needs to have a Bone Marrow Transplant. The doctors have already tried 10 different chemos, and they have determined she is chemo resistant. This young lady has had a rough road, but always seems to have a smile on her face. She knows she has a battle in front of her, and she recently told her doctors I don't want to die! She seems to have all the rare side effects to a lot of her chemo and other medicines ( she now ask the doctors not to tell her the common side effects just the rare ones)
Due to other complications she has had, a stroke and eye issues and 2 brain surgeries, she has been turned down for certain studies at other hospitals.
They have recently started her on this new drug called Blinatumomab, which was just FDA approved this past December. Wolfson's has never used this drug, but feel confident in the treatment. The goal is for this drug to get her in remission so she can go forward for a transplant, which is another long road. None of siblings were a match for her so she will be doing a cord transplant.

She has 1 older sister and 2 younger brothers and her parents are Shawn and Amanda Morris, they are great people and are from our community here in St. Augustine.
