One Pad at a Time

Period Poverty is a problem. Women have to suffer through their period every month, but some cannot afford pads, tampons or painkillers. We are so privileged and sometimes take it for granted. Now, we need to help out women who can't afford to buy menstrual products every month. 

“One Pad at a Time,” is aiming to raise money to put together period packages for women who do not have access to sufficient period supplies. The women we will be helping are girls ages 10-18 at the Alliance of Chin Refugees school in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is a school below a refugee clinic made up of children who have refuged to Malaysia from Myanmar. With $380 (1700rm), we will be able to provide period packs for 30 girls at the school. 



Each pack will include the following:

- A Large Reusable Pad
-A Medium Reusable Pad
- Feminine Soap

We will be purchasing the products from Malaysia's first zero waste store, The Hive 

During COVID-19, we are unable to raise money in person, so we have decided to go virtual. We would like to raise the money by October 2020 so we can distribute the packages in November.

Any donation as small as a dollar would mean so much to us. Periods are a natural occurrence and women should not be expected to suffer through them each month without proper hygienic materials. Pads are a necessity for women, but are very expensive. By donating, you are helping a young women have sufficient products to have menstrual hygiene. We really want to help these girls, but we can't do it without your help. If we can exceed our goal, we will be able to provide even more supplies to the girls we are trying to help. Thank you.

Edit: Thanks to everyone's support we have been able to increase our goal! With $170 extra, we will be able to give each girl 3 pads instead of 2! This will allow for the pads to dry completely in between uses and will provide sufficient hygiene for longer:) Thank you so much for helping these girls.
