Emily's Funeral

My precious, beautiful daughter, Emily, (37), of East Nashville, died suddenly Sunday, Sept 1, from a tragic car accident. She was disoriented from some meds she was taking and crashed her car into the wall on the interstate. She got out of her car, ran into on-coming traffic, and was killed instantly when a car hit her. It was not the  other driver's fault and he did stop to help her.  Thankfully,  Emily died instantly and felt no pain. Emily's live-in boyfriend who had been supporting her and her two children for years, said he would pay for her funeral, of course. Two other family members said they'd pay half. I spent all afternoon yesterday at the funeral home with her children planning her modest funeral, which is scheduled for Thursday (tomorrow). At the last minute, her benefactors changed their mind and are NOT going to pay anything toward her funeral! Her boyfriend, who acted like her husband for many years and supplied her with expensive cars, now claim "it is not his responsibility" to bear the expense. It is too late to make changes. Today, Wednesday, is visitation. Time is running out and we must raise the money for the funeral in a very short time. I desperately need your help! Emily was a beautiful young woman with a lot of  unfortunate.issues. She had years of drug addiction and mental illness she was trying to recover from. She had worked hard to get clean and was successful for about a year. The meds she was taking for her mental issues changed and caused her to be disoriented, delusional and paranoid. She had just been to the hospital last week to get the meds adjusted, but they were still causing her to act "crazy". She was talking to herself constantly and having hallucinations. Emily should not have been driving, but her boyfriend gave her the car keys.  On top of being unbelievably devastated by her sudden tragic death, we are between a rock and a hard place trying to come up with the money fast. Friends suggested this fund raising effort. I reluctantly agreed because I don't see another way. Emily's body was so traumatized by the accident, the funeral director strongly suggests we not see her. I was so counting on holding my baby one last time, but that is impossible. Her precious children (19 and 15) are being denied that last good-bye, too. It will have to be a closed casket. Please help us give Emily the sweet funeral she, her family and children deserve. As her mother, I am trying to arrange everything, take care of her children and grieve at the same time. I am overwhelmed and completely devastated. Like every other mother in the world, I never planned to bury one of my children! (Emily has a twin brother who is in shock as well.) Our family is dealing with unspeakable pain. Now we are reeling from the sudden information that the people who supposedly loved her will not pay for her funeral as they said they would.  Can you please help me put my baby to rest?
