Helping the Heislers Battle Cancer

In December 2013 Derek was diagnosed with brain tumor which turned out to be malignant.  Since the diagnosis Derek has been unable to return to work due to a full schedule of radiation treatments, chemotherapy treatments and numerous doctors appointments.

 

Along with the traditional methods of cancer treatment Derek has also engaged the services of a well known naturalpath in Weyburn, who based on Derek’s case has been able to bring new Hyperthermia treatment into Saskatchewan to help win this battle. He has also been receiving Vitamin C injections and taking numerous supplements which will need to be a lifelong commitment to stay healthy.

 

The physical, mental and emotional strain that comes along with waging a war on cancer is something that most people should never have to bear. However, this family has faced it head on without any fear and is fighting this war at every angle and always looking for new treatments to help win this stressful battle.

 

Now here is where we can help. The financial strain is also a part of the war, that in many cases can lose the war with the majority of alternative treatments not being covered by our health system and by all means are not cheap.  Derek is currently being faced with the potential of having to travel to Winnipeg to receive a new form of radiation treatment, ongoing Hyperthermia treatments received from the Naturopath and the continuing weekly trips to Regina for numerous doctors appointments which all needs to be covered on a single income disability payment
