Artist Fund for Nyssa Perrin Clark

I began painting two years ago as a way to cope with my medical (neurological) condition and my inability to work. It became essential that I find personal happiness and fulfillment simply because the pain was so intense. Painting has given me the gift of expressing myself in my most authentic way and has been a beautiful silver lining during a very challenging time of my life. Painting has helped me to manage my pain, improve physically, mentally and spiritually. It has changed everything and broken open my life into a new light. I am so grateful to all who have cheered me on, followed and appreciated my artwork over the last two years. A special thank you to those who have added my work to your home.

I never dreamed of where the painting journey would take me - from beginning to sell my first few paintings, to my first commissions, then a three month show at a local boutique in Eugene, a benefit showing at a local library in Creswell, and a free online class I took through MoMA called "Abstract Expressionism in the Post-war Era". Recently MoMA asked students of the class to submit one image from a painting they created during the eight week class. From those submissions, they selected some images to show at MoMA from January 5-22, 2018. Much to my extreme honor, my painting, "Easter Weekend" was one of the works selected to be showcased!!! I was already over the moon... but now, I am beyond thrilled and stunned that a dear friend and art collector has donated to me air miles, lodging and some transportation so that I may attend the opening reception in New York City on Monday, January 8th, 2018. I still can't believe this Bucket List moment is even happening!!!

My goal here is to raise enough additional money to get me around the Big Apple for a couple days, and then, upon return from New York, maintain this momentum by beginning the serious work of buying a domain name, establishing an artists website/portfolio with quality photographs, answering more calls to artists, seeking more opportunities to exhibit my work , securing appropriate art space, and continuing my development and education as an artist. In general, this fund and your support will help me seize this special moment in my art journey  in every way. If you would like to help me reach these goals, I am so very grateful. Because it's much more fun for both of us, I have also added Rewards levels and will be sending out original thank you videos, art cards, custom paintings and even commemorative tote bags and locally printed high resolution art prints of my painting that is being showcased at MoMA, hand signed by me!

Thank you so much to all who have stepped forward, into my life, to be a part of my art journey. I truly mean that for everyone, whether they are able or inclined to donate to the cause, or not. You have really all been so important to me. Painting has been healing my head, healing my heart and giving my life a path, passion, purpose and a peace that I have sought for decades. Thank YOU. Thank you so very much.
