Maharashtra Flood Relief

Sewa Canada International Aid Inc is a registered Canadian charitable organization, serving the world for the last three decades - in Health, Education, Social Development & Disaster Relief. All donations are Tax deductible in Canada.

Floods have ravaged the province of Maharashtra, India. The areas hard hit are Ratnagiri, Chiplun, Raigad, Sindhudurg, Sangli, Satara & Kholapur. Rivers in the region namely Krishna, Koyana, Varana, Panchganga, Dudhganga have crossed dangerous levels and water has entered into homes. Road & rail transportation has been impacted on many key routes. Landslides have also resulted in loss of lives. Hundreds of people are dead, scores missing and injured. A few hundred thousands have been evacuated. Thousands of animals have been killed. Number of houses are either destroyed or badly damaged. 25 teams comprising of NDRF, Army, Air Force & Navy are deployed

Immediate Relief Required

Our partners on the ground in Maharashtra are already active in relief activities on the ground, while more volunteers are waiting join them, once the highways are clear of flooding. The top immediate needs of the evacuated and displaced victims are Dry Food (Biscuits, Snacks), Food packets, Search lights, First aid kits

Candles and matchboxes, Clothes, Water bottles, Sanitary napkins, blankets.

The long term needs for rehabilitation and reconstruction will be assessed once the relief phase is completed. Our long term work will focus on the underprivileged and the most needy victims. We will keep all of our donors updated on this as the work progresses on the ground.

100% of your donations will be transferred to the effort on the ground for immediate relief and long term relief. All donations are tax deductible in Canada. Tax receipts will be issues automatically by GoFundMe via PayPal Giving Fund.
