Calling on my Village

"Alone we can do so little; Together we can do so much"

With a very humbled heart, I am asking for help from my friends and family... My village.

Since I was 12 years old I have had Scoliosis. I have lived with daily pain, and restrictions because of the deformity. Unfortunately, the curves in my spine have been increasing over the last few years, and the pain became unbearable. My spine is not only curved but has started to twist in the center as well, which adds to the daily pain. I have worked very hard to not let this deformity shape me, but it has finally won this battle.

On Monday, August 21st I will be having a full spinal fusion to straighten my spine. I will have titanium screws on both sides of the vertebrae from head to tail. I will be in the hospital for 3-10 days, and then bedridden for just under 3 months. I am unable to return to work for at least 6 months. As many of you know, my husband Patrick and I are currently in the green card process, so he is unable to work for up to 11 months as of now, with the process being so delayed since Covid. This is why we have now called upon our "village" to help us during this hard time.

I have set our fundraising goal to cover our rent and daily bills for the next 6 months. Eliminating some of the stress will help me with my recovery and will help me to be able to relax and heal in peace.
