New clothing collection for wheelchair users

Att kunna uttrycka oss med färg, form och stil är något som nästan alla tar för givet. Klä upp oss till festen, anpassa klädvalet till jobbet eller välja det enkla när vi är hemma. Vi provar kläderna noga, poserar framför spegeln och väljer plagg som framhäver det önskvärda. Som man brukar säga - kläderna speglar vår personlighet.
Att kunna uttrycka oss med färg, form och stil är något som nästan alla tar för givet. Klä upp oss till festen, anpassa klädvalet till jobbet eller välja det enkla när vi är hemma. Vi provar kläderna noga, poserar framför spegeln och väljer plagg som framhäver det önskvärda. Som man brukar säga - kläderna speglar vår personlighet.
Men tänk om du inte längre kunde känna den här friheten, att kläderna aldrig kändes som gjorda för dig.
När jag träffade min man Kristoffer Fredriksson såg jag hur illa kläderna satt på honom. Passformen blir aldrig riktigt bra för kläderna kasar antingen upp eller ned. Det är nämligen så att Kristoffer är rullstolsburen och kläderna som säljs idag helt enkelt inte är designade för någon som honom.
För mig är det viktigt att alla ska kunna uttrycka sin personlighet i valet av kläder. Därför har jag, med hjälp av en designer, skapat en kollektion helt anpassad till alla modemedvetna och rullstolsburna konsumenter.
Kollektionen är den första i sitt slag
Vi har kommit så pass långt i processen att vår första kollektion HUMAN nu finns tillgänglig i Sverige.
Kläderna är anpassade med högre midja bak, gummiband, tryckknappar istället för vanliga knappar och stretch. Vi har tagit fram jeans, elegant finbyxa och en klassisk jacka.

"De jeans som företaget Wheelwear tagit fram vill jag verkligen slå ett slag för. De är för det första oerhört snygga och har dessutom en fenomenal passform för någon som mig som sitter ner hela tiden. De är väldigt mjuka och sköna och har inbyggd stretch i alla led vilket gör dem väldigt bekväma. De anpassningar som dessutom gjorts med högre bak med gummiband och tryckknapp fram gör dem oerhört lättanvända. Jag har knappt varit ur mitt par sedan jag fick dem!”

"Den mörkblå jackan i herrkollektionen Human från Wheelwear är varm och har snygga detaljer i form av orangefärgade dragkedjor och fickor. Ett bekvämt plagg i god passform. Som rullstolsanvändare är min erfarenhet av jackor att det blir "pösigt". För att minska känslan av att jackan gör mig tjock försöker jag trycka ned och ihop tyget, men det leder bara till mer smuts när tyg kommer ut åt sidorna mot hjulen. Mindre storlekar minskar "pösigheten", men då blir armarna för korta, jackan sitter tajt och jag liknar en michelingubbe. Men tack vare att den här jackan är midjehög och har mudd i midjan och vid handleder är "pösigheten" veck och risken för smuts från hjulen minskar. Förutom två vanliga fickor på varsin sida har jackan också en kul detalj. Istället för innerficka sitter det nämligen en snygg kavajliknande bröstficka på framsidan.”
Nästa fas är den viktigaste
För att kunna uppfylla drömmen om att erbjuda kollektioner både till rullstolsburna kvinnor och män behöver satsningen få in nytt kapital. Här kan du göra en stor skillnad! Being able to dress ourselves in the clothes we like and express ourselves with color, shape and style is something that almost everyone takes for granted. Dress up for a party, adapt the choice of clothes to the job or choose the simple and comfortable ones when we are at home. We choose clothes carefully, pose in front of the mirror for hours and choose the garment most careful. As they say - the clothes reflect our personality.
But what if you never could feel this satisfaction, as if the clothes your wear feels like they where made for someone els, not for you.
When I met my husband Kristoffer, who is a wheelchair user, he struggled with just this kind of problems. The clothes he wore did not stayed in place for more then 10 min. The clothes he can get his hands on are simply not created for anyone in a wheelchair. For me it's important that everyone should be able to express their personality in the choice of clothes. Therefore, with the help of a designer I created a collection of clothes completly created according to all the rules of fashion and completely adapted for people in wheelchairs.
The collection is the first of its kind
We have come so far in the process that our first collection HUMAN is now available in Sweden.
The clothes have adjustments like higher waist at the back, rubber bands, press studs instead of regular buttons and stretch. This first collection includes jeans, elegant trousers and a classic jacket.

"The jeans that the company Wheelwear has developed, I really want to strike a blow for. First of all, they are extremely stylish and also have a phenomenal fit for someone like me who sits down all the time. They are very soft and comfortable and have built-in stretch in All joints, which makes them very comfortable. The adjustments that have also been made with a higher rear with rubber bands and a push button at the front make them extremely easy to use. I have barely been out of my pair since I got them!"

The dark blue jacket in the men's collection Human from Wheelwear is warm and has nice details in the form of orange zippers and pockets. A comfortable garment in a good fit. As a wheelchair user, my experience with jackets is that it becomes "puffy". To reduce the feeling that the jacket makes me thick, I try to push the fabric down and together, but it only leads to more dirt when the fabric comes out to the sides towards the wheels. But thanks to the fact that this jacket is waist-high and has a cuff at the waist and at the wrists, the "puffiness" folds and the risk of dirt from the wheels is reduced. In addition to two regular pockets on each side, the jacket also has a fun detail. namely a nice jacket-like chest pocket on the front. "
The next phase is the most important
In order to fulfill the dream of offering collections to both women in wheelchairs and men, the investment needs to raise new capital. Here you can make a big difference!
