NWS New Toys For Needy Kids 2022

For many years, NoteWorthy Singers, through our annual benefit concert, has been a strong supporter of “New Toys For Needy Kids”.

Again this year, due to the pandemic, there are still many families struggling to provide gifts for their children.

When you make a cash donation to the NoteWorthy Singers’ GoFundMe page, you will be helping us support “New Toys For Needy Kids” (Waterloo Knights of Columbus). Your donation will enable the safe purchase of appropriate toys for needy kids in the Region of Waterloo.

We are asking you to help the NoteWorthy Singers continue our support. If you are unable to attend our benefit concert, we invite you to make your donation through this GoFundMe. This year the concert in support of New Toys For Needy Kids will be held in the Community Christian Reformed Church, 1275 Bleams Rd, Kitchener, ON. The concert will be on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at 2:00 pm. Admission: donations, cash or cheque to New Toys for Needy Kids or an unwrapped child’s toy.

Because of the pandemic as well as the generosity of Canada towards the refugees from Ukraine, your generous donations are needed more than ever.

From its humble beginnings, in 1996, the Waterloo Knights of Columbus collected and distributed 175 toys. Their campaign has grown over the years and is now called “New Toys For Needy Kids”. By 2017, the campaign, with community partners, distributed more than 25,000 toys to 44 partner agencies, which distributed the age-appropriate toys to needy kids across the Region of Waterloo.

While the campaign is centred around Christmas, the toys are distributed throughout the year by many organizations. Grand River Hospital, for example, uses the toys through the year to help young patients, their siblings and their parents get through stressful, tough times and since the beginning of 2020, they have donated over 2000 gifts to families for birthday gifts as well.
