Hunter's Road to Recovery
Donation protected
Thursday June 15th Hunter was involved in a very serious life threatening 4 wheeler accident. With quick and calm actions from both his cousin and P Paw they were able to get him to the Wooster Community Hospital and more importantly save his life. Wooster did an emergency tracheotomy and was then flown by helicopter to Akron Chidren's Hospital. At Akron Hunter had round the clock care by wonderful nurses and doctors. They had made the decision that due to the severity of his injury he would be best at Metro Hospital in Cleveland since it is a Level 1 trauma center with doctors there that specialize in this type of injury. Friday evening Hunter had another helicopter ride to Metro. Saturday June 17th Hunter endured a 4 hour long surgery to reconstruct his wind pipe. The surgery went well. It was then the surgeons informed the family that they have no answers as to how Hunter not only survived his injury but how he managed to walk with his cousin's assistance to get help. He has a long road of recovery and what may be the worst, is that he does not have the ability to communicate as of right now. He is to make a full recovery, it will just be a long one. The duration of Hunter's stay is uncertain but he amazes the doctors and nurses everyday with his strength. Hunter is a fighter and is better known now to his family as a miracle! This page is to help with all the medical bills that have occured and also the after care that will be required.
