Daniel's Neurological Journey

Thank you for taking the time to learn Daniel's story.
At 4 weeks old Daniel started having some unusual "spells". He was taken immediately to Phoenix Children's Hospital where we met with a neurologist. He was put on medication to control the "spells", which we later learned were seizures. We spent the next day in the hospital. Daniel had an EEG and MRI late that night. We remember seeing our tiny little baby lying in the hospital bed waking up from anesthesia. Then the doctor called with the results from his MRI. Daniel had significant abnormalities on his brain and diagnosed with Epilepsy. My heart sank. My husband & I cried nonstop. How could this happen??
We were told the list of possible disabilities Daniel may have as he grows. No one can tell us what his life will be like, we can only provide him with love and early intervention for now.
Daniel currently takes medication 3 times a day to control his seizures. We are blessed to say he is currently 3 months seizure free.
Now that Daniel is almost 6 months old we are working hard to help him conquer his developmental delays. He works with a physical therapist, developmental specialist, vision teacher, and neurologist. Through all this Daniel is always happy and tries his hardest to overcome his challenges.
Daniel is a true blessing in our life and we all love him more than he will ever know. His big brother has been amazing at being a good helper for his little brother. With all the heartache and challenges we want to provide Daniel with everything he needs to give him the best possible outcome. I have had to quit working and stay home full time to care for Daniel and take him to all his appointments while my husband works 2 jobs to support our family. Daniel requires lots of specialty care, services, equipment, and daily medication.
We are asking for help in anyway. We will use your donation to help purchase Daniel's helmet, hand splints, hip helpers, exercise equipment, medication, pay for physical and occupational therapy, and any other needs or equipment that he may need in the future. We will save all his equipment and make sure it is donated to other families who need these items as well. Every child deserves a chance!
