Dear Friends and Family,
For the fourth year in a row, our good friends from Camp Krem have been kind enough to give us ten scholarships to come out for camp. The scholarships are going to ten of my former students and dear friends with developmental disabilities. Camp Krem’s mission is simple: they provide a beautiful space in the mountains of Northern California for exceptional people to be themselves, while giving respite to parents who rarely get it, but so desperately need and deserve it. In our students’ cases, they’ve been raised by single mothers their whole lives. Camp is the one time these kids get to be with their friends in a safe environment, while their mothers get a chance to relax and recharge. One of the mothers described Camp Krem as a “Godsend”. Any single parent whose raised a child with severe Autism would agree with this assessment of camp.
The only piece left is getting them there and back. Your donation will go toward airfare to and from camp, a shuttle bus to the mountains from the airport, and food the day we arrive and the day we depart. We have ten campers and four adults supporting them to ensure they are safe and having fun. If you’re both able and willing, please make a donation and/or share our page with others.
