Dear Friends,

I am requesting this money to help me and my family pay for some of our medical expenses as I am about to go through my third Neurosurgery to remove a tumor on my pituitary gland.

I have decent health coverage but over the last few years, I have maxed out my budget paying the max deductible each year. My out-of-pocket keeps going up as well. I work as a Marriage and Family Therapist for a non-profit charity of troubled youth and their families. I am not rich financially even though I am rich with many great relationships. I love my job and would be making enough to live comfortably if it weren't for my current medical situation.

Several years of fighting this tumor has a cumulative effect on me and my family financially. Because my medical expenses have taken highest priority, my kids teeth have suffered. My daughter, Jackie, has two temporary fillings on teeth that she needs crowns put on. She has been living this way for close to two years. My son, Kyle needs braces. He should have had them on a few years ago. We simply don't have the money to take care of these issues after caring for the tumor. We keep putting them off but can't anymore. I have no other ideas for funding their care. This breaks my heart as my children mean the world to me. I almost feel selfish as I get the treatment that I need and my children don't.
